Katrina is a DC native with over thirty five year's experience as a grassroots activist and community leader. She began her leadership training as a preadolescent by staging a play in her best friend's basement. She went on to take on leadership roles in almost every group she joined leading up to her election to the state presidency of Maryland NOW and later taking on the role of acting minister for the Sojourner Truth Congregation of Unitarian Universalists.

Katrina also brings twenty five years of technical expertise and depth. As an Internet architect and earlier as a researcher, she was part of the innovative and creative push that led to the creation of the Internet, the World Wide Web, personal digital assistants, smart information appliances and intelligent software agents.

Katrina earned her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Marland and her M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. Katrina wrote the over 10,000 lines of code that powers the acclaimed Amber Eyes Event Management System.
